19 April 2007 US Inflation The US consumer price inflation rose by 0.6% month on month in March from 0.4% in February, the largest increase in 11 months, as energy prices jumped by 5.9%. Within energy, petroleum prices soared by 10.1%, helping boost the rate of transport price inflation to 2.8%, an 18-month high. Year-on-year, headline inflation increased by 2.8%, a seven-month high.
