22 March 2006 UK Consumer Price Inflation Rises The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has reported that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has risen by 2.0% in the year to February, up from 1.9% in January. The higher inflation levels are primarily due to recreational items. The All-items Retail Price Index (RPI) has recorded a rise to 2.4% unchanged from January. The All-items excluding mortgage interest payments (RPIX) recorded a 2.3% increase, also unchanged from January. The full press release can be accessed via the following link: Government Statistics
