UK Construction Orders up 8%

New construction orders in January 2006 rose by eight per cent compared to the previous year according to statistics published by the Dti today. The table below summarises the major sector movements.

Public New Housing 13%
Private New Housing 7%
Infrastructure 31%%
Private Industrial 27%
Public Non-Residential -12%
Private Commercial 8%
