UK Construction: Continues its 'growing but slowing' trend

Figures released by the Department of Trade and Industry have once again highlighted a continual growth in the UK Construction Industry but the figures continue to demonstrate falls in growth from those published in previous months.

Using the Volume of Construction Output by all agencies (Seasonally adjusted index numbers) the rounded annual growth from 2Q 2004 and 2Q 2005 for each sector is summarised below:

Public New Housing 1% (Small base figure)
Private New Housing 9% Infrastructure -13%
Private Industrial 4% Public Non-Residential -2%
Private Commercial 3% All New Work 1%
Repair and Maintenance -1%
