Thailand's economy grew by 5.3% in the third quarter of 2005, compared to a year ago, higher than the forecast of 4.7%, said the National Economic and Social Development Board.

The growth was boosted by robust exports and increased agricultural production despite the impact of higher energy prices and slowing domestic demand.
