06 March 2007 South Africa GDP increased South Africa’s GDP growth accelerated to an annualised 5.6% in the fourth quarter 2006, the strongest performance since the third quarter of 2004. The manufacturing sector rose by 8.3%, the largest increase in one and a half years, while output growth from the financial, real estate and business services sectors (which accounts for the largest share of GDP) climbed to 7.2% from 4.9% in the third quarter.
