31 May 2007 South African CPIX increases to 6.3% year-on-year in April The South African CPIX (consumer price index excluding interest rates on mortgage bonds), has risen from 5.5% to 6.3% year-on-year in April. This is due to an 8.6% increase in food prices, 5.5% rise in housing costs and 7.6% growth in transport costs.
