24 March 2006 New Zealand's currency hits a 22-month low Last year New Zealand's currency reached a 21-year high and now it finds itself in the position where it is falling fast and is now at a 22-month low. The $97 billion economy appears to be stalling as Statistics New Zealand today reported the economy shrank 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter from the previous three months.
