02 February 2007 Japan GDP growth jumps Japan’s economy expanded annually by 4.8% in the fourth quarter 2006, up from 0.3% in the third quarter, the strongest performance since the first quarter of 2005. Private consumption and investment growth accelerated to 4.4% and 9.4% respectively, both reaching three-year highs.
