10 May 2007 Indonesia cut interest rates Indonesia’s central bank (Bank Indonesia, BI) reduced its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 8.75% on May. Interest rates have now been cut 11 times since monetary loosening began in May 2006, by a total of 400 basis points.
