India's private sector salaries are estimated to rise by 11.3% in 2006, 7.3% above inflation, indicating the country's strong economic growth. It is the highest rate in the world, according to a global salary survey report.

By comparison, salaries in the UK and the US are forecast to go up by 1.5% and 1% only above inflation respectively.
