26 July 2006 Egypt consumer price inflation rises Egypt’s consumer price inflation increased to 6.4% year on year in June from 5.4% in May. Accelerating costs for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which hold a large weighting in consumer price index, were responsible for most of the inflation gain in June. Food prices rose 9.8%, up from 7.7% in May.
