21 November 2006 China to double land use fees On Monday the Ministry of Finance announced that they will double land-use fees for new construction projects commencing January 1st 2007. The ministry explained that the decision was made to help protect arable land and thwart land abuse. The adjustment is expected to increase the cost of industrial land by between 40 and 60 percent
