24 April 2007 Canada inflation hits 8-month high Canada’s consumer prices rose by 2.3% in March from a year earlier, the largest increase in eight months. Although inflation accelerated in March, this was owing to higher international oil prices that month, the central bank’s measure of core inflation, which strips out the eight most volatile components and the effects of recent cuts in indirect taxes, edged down to 2.3% from 2.4% a month earlier.
