22 March 2007 Canada: Inflation accelerates Canada’s consumer price inflation rose by 2% year on year in February, the largest increase in six months. More importantly, the central bank’s measure of core inflation, which strips out the eight most volatile components and the effects of recent cuts in indirect taxes, accelerated to 2.4%, close to a four-year high.
