03 May 2006 Asia to host 2011 Cricket World Cup A joint bid by four Asian countries has successfully won the right to host the 2011 cricket world cup. Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan had been awarded the honour at an International Cricket Council (ICC) meeting in Dubai on Sunday. Australia and New Zealand also secured the rights to host the 2015 tournament with England winning the rights for 2019.
